தமிழக ஆளுநர் பன்வாரிலால் புரோகித் ஆகஸ்ட் 10ம் தேதி, அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் புதிய துணை வேந்தராக R Velraj என்பவரை நியமித்து உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார். வேல்ராஜ் ஆகஸ்ட் 10, 2021ம் தேதியிலிருந்து தொடர்ந்து மூன்று ஆண்டுகளாக அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் துணைவேந்தராக செயல்பட உள்ளார். வேல்ராஜ் அவர்கள் கடந்த 33 ஆண்டுகளாக கற்பித்தல் பணியில் சிறப்பாக செயல்பட்டுள்ளார். இவர் Director, Institute for Energy Studies Anna University, ஆக பணியாற்றி உள்ளார்.

He completed B.E (Mechanical Engineering) and he completed M.E (Energy Engineering) and completed Doctorate in Thermal Storage Studies for Energy Applications.

• he worked at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur (1987-1992) as Lecturer
• he worked at the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University as Teaching faculty from 1992
• he worked at the Centre for Engineering Partnership, Anna University as deputy director (2004-2010)
• he worked at the AU -FRG Institute for CAD/CAM, Anna University as director from (2010-13)
• finally, he had been working at Institute for Energy Studies, Anna University, as director (Since April 2013)
