About Karur CEO Office
Karur Taluk which was once a part of Coimbatore district, was merged with the Tiruchirappalli district during 1910. Karur district came into existence by the bifurcation of Trichy district as per GO No 683. It is bounded on the north by Namakkal, south by Dindigul, East by Trichy and west by Erode district.
Karur district consists of Two Revenue Divisions such as Karur and Kulithali, Seven taluks such as Karur, Aravakurichi, Manmangalam, Pugalur, Kulithalai, Krishnarayapuram and Kadavur comprising of 203 revenue village. The district has eight blocks.
The district is rich in mineral deposits. Granite occur at Thogamalai, K Pitchamapatty and various places in the district. Apart from the above major minerals the common use the minor minerals viz red gravel, brick clay, filling earth and kankar are also found in this district.
Besides, lots of familiar education institutions are providing the education to the students.
